Welcome New Patients!

We are thrilled to welcome new patients and their families as they begin their orthodontic journey. At Keller & Wainwright Orthodontics, we aim to make your first visit both enjoyable and informative. This initial appointment provides a valuable opportunity to get acquainted with our office, discuss your goals with our doctors, and understand what to expect from your treatment. We recognize that each patient has unique health needs and aesthetic desires, and we dedicate this time to thoroughly address all aspects of your orthodontic care and ensure a personalized approach to your treatment.

First Visit

Your initial consultation with our office is complementary and designed to give you a comprehensive introduction to our office. Prior to your visit with us, you will fill out the necessary paperwork which can be found here on our website. After welcoming you inside our office, we will take a set of high-quality digital photographs to aid in diagnosing and describing your occlusion. A thorough examination by our doctor will follow to assess the health and aesthetics of your teeth, gums, and smile. If treatment is recommended, we will explain the nature of the orthodontic issues and present a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, including an estimate of the treatment duration and available options.

Our team will provide you with a detailed examination report, information on future appointments, and a discussion of payment and insurance options. If your child is not ready to begin treatment immediately, we offer complimentary observation visits to monitor their growth and development. Please set aside approximately 45 minutes for your consultation to ensure we have ample time to address all of your questions and provide the information you need.

Financing

We are committed to making orthodontic treatment affordable and offer a range of flexible payment options to suit your budget. Our payment plans include interest free monthly payment plans, automatic monthly bank or credit card drafts, extended financing, discounts for pre-payment in full, and family member discounts. We also assist with insurance and flexible spending account (FSA) claims to streamline your reimbursement process. Although we are considered an "out-of-network" provider with insurance companies, we are more than happy to help file claims on your behalf for any treatment prescribed by our doctors. Additionally, we can provide FSA/HSA statements upon request for reimbursement through your employer. Our goal is to make your orthodontic care as accessible and affordable as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is common and normal to experience some soreness during orthodontic treatment?

It's typical to experience some soreness during orthodontic treatment, which usually persists for three to four days following an adjustment. To ease discomfort, we suggest consuming softer foods and rinsing with warm salt water after meals. Pain relievers such as Ibuprofen or Tylenol can also be helpful. Parents should administer these medications according to recommended dosages, provided there are no prior adverse reactions or contraindications.

What do I do If a Separator/Spacer Falls out?

If we place a separator (spacer) prior to placing an appliance, and it falls out a day or two before your next appointment you do not need to have it replaced. If it falls out before then, call our office during regular business hours to schedule a quick appointment to replace the missing separator.

What do i do if a bracket becomes loose, An Archwire is Poking, or  an elastic tie breaks?

Call our office during regular business hours and schedule a repair appointment. If you come for a routine short appointment with a loose appliance, there may not be time in the schedule to do the repair, so please call us so we can plan a time for the repair.  If the loose band or bracket is irritating the gums or cheek, place wax over the area. Similarly, you can place wax over the area if the wire is poking.

Is it common to feel like my teeth are moving or loose?

Do not be surprised if teeth feel loose during treatment. Teeth need to loosen before they can move into their new positions.
