Braces

Braces are a time-tested orthodontic treatment that uses metal brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into their correct positions. They are highly effective at treating a wide range of dental issues, including crowding, gaps, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. Today’s braces are more comfortable and customizable than ever, with options like clear or tooth-colored brackets and colorful bands to make your treatment more personal. Braces provide precise control over tooth movement, making them an excellent choice for both simple and complex orthodontic cases, helping patients achieve a healthier, more aligned smile.

Phase I Treatment

Phase I treatment, also known as early interceptive orthodontic treatment, is designed for young children, typically between the ages of 6 and 10, to address dental and jaw issues while they are still developing. This early intervention helps correct problems like severe crowding, crossbites, and habits like thumb sucking, guiding the growth of the jaw and creating more space for incoming permanent teeth. Our doctors will carefully evaluate if Phase I treatment is necessary or if your child can hold off for a single phase of orthodontics during the teenage years.

At the end of Phase I treatment, our doctors will provide retainers to help maintain the new positions of the teeth and jaws, preventing any relapse of the movement achieved during treatment. Since children continue to lose baby teeth and grow in permanent teeth, we will monitor their progress and adjust the retainer regularly. Once all the permanent teeth have erupted, we will re-evaluate the need for Phase II treatment if necessary. By addressing orthodontic concerns early on, Phase I treatment lays the groundwork for a healthier smile and can make any future orthodontic needs more manageable.

Orthognathic Jaw Surgery

For patients with significant skeletal discrepancies or severe misalignments, orthodontic treatment alone may not be sufficient to achieve optimal results. In these cases, combining orthodontics with jaw surgery can effectively reposition the jaws and improve both function and aesthetics. Our office collaborates closely with oral surgeons to create a comprehensive treatment plan that integrates both orthodontic and surgical interventions. Before starting treatment, we work with your oral surgeon to ensure that the orthodontic movements support and enhance the outcomes of the surgery. This approach ensures a well-coordinated plan, tailored to meet your specific needs and achieve the best possible results.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gently move teeth into their ideal positions. Made from comfortable SmartTrack material, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, making them a discreet option for straightening teeth. They are customized to fit snugly over your teeth and can treat a wide range of issues, including crowding, gaps, overbites, and underbites. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, brush, and floss normally. With fewer in-office visits and the option for virtual check-ins, Invisalign offers a flexible and convenient way to achieve a beautiful smile.

Interdisciplinary Treatment

Interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment often involves collaboration between orthodontists and other dental providers to achieve the best results. Many times, your dentist may find limitations due to the positioning of your teeth, which can impact the effectiveness of treatments like veneers, bridges, or implants. Orthodontic treatment can address these issues by moving your teeth into better positions, allowing for optimal placement of restorations. Our office works closely with various dental providers to ensure a coordinated approach. We communicate with your preferred dentist before starting orthodontic treatment to develop a comprehensive plan that meets your goals. If only a few teeth need adjustment, we offer customized, limited orthodontic options. Every patient receives an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.

Retainers

Retainers are custom-made appliances designed to maintain your smile by keeping your teeth in their new, corrected positions after orthodontic treatment. Worn as directed by your orthodontist, retainers are essential in preventing teeth from shifting back to their original alignment. They come in various forms, including clear removable retainers and Hawley retainers, which are made of metal and acrylic for durability and a customized fit. Comfortable and easy to wear, retainers ensure the long-term success of your orthodontic treatment, helping you preserve your beautifully straight smile for years to come.
